Lana Del Rey Shares Album Art, Hit With Backlash For

Vocal powerhouse Lana Del Rey jumped in to clear the air about the cover of her upcoming album Chemtrails Over the Country Club.

Like many other celebrities, singer Lana Del Rey recently opened up about what she thought of the Capitol Hill attack that took place in Washington in the last week. Calling out a few of women by name, Del Rey emphasised that some of them were actually "people of colour".

"Not to say that there's not some also really cute, great, happy-go-lucky influencers that have taught me about crockpots and Target hauls and all the things that have really cheered up my life". "And no this was not intended-these are my best friends, since you are asking today".

She continued her comment: "My lovely friend Valerie from Del Rio Mexico, my dearest friend Alex and my gorgeous friend Dakota Rain as well as my sweetheart Tatiana. these are my friends this is my life". In May of 2020, she posted a video on her social media showing people looting stores during a protest over the death of George Floyd, a move that was condemned by many netizens. "Respect it", the singer wrote.

Del Rey's second statement went on: "these are my friends this is my life".

She goes on to name several of the women in the photo, adding, "We are all a lovely mix of everything- some more than others which is visible and celebrated in everything I do".

"There's always turmoil and upheaval and in the midst of it- there's always attractive music too", Del Rey wrote on Instagram when sharing the artwork.

Lana insisted that her work, in general, is usually "extremely inclusive without even trying to" make it that way.

"You know, he doesn't know that he's inciting a riot and I believe that", she said. Soon after the reveal, many blasted the singer for not making it diverse enough, to which she commented back: "I also want to say that with everything going on this year!" the 35-year-old Grammy-nominated performer wrote.

Chemtrails Over The Country Club doesn't have a release date yet, but it's expected to be announced this week.
