Kyrie Irving allegedly was at party, said to be 'off the grid'

Kyrie Irving

The former National Basketball Association champion has missed the last three games for the Nets due to "personal reasons".

The Nets listed Irving as out for their game Tuesday against Denver, which will be the fourth straight he misses for personal reasons. However, much like James Harden at the beginning of the season, the National Basketball Association will likely investigate this matter internally to determine whether Irving needs to quarantine himself for even longer before resuming the season. His investigation showed that Irving was actually in New Jersey with his father and sister, celebrating their birthdays, which take place on January 11 and January 12.

After missing the past three games because of the NBA's health and safety protocols, Kevin Durant is set to return Sunday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team announced.

The Nets have elected not to elaborate on Irving's absence, with coach Steve Nash saying Friday that he has communicated with the All-Star guard but wanted to keep those conversations private.

The Brooklyn Nets have lost six of their last nine games and now have a losing record through their first eleven games of the season.
