Frank Lampard: Chelsea FC defender could be sent out on loan

AC Milan Target Loan Move For Tomori

Chelsea central defender Fikayo Tomori could leave the Blues for one of Europe's most iconic clubs AC Milan this month.

Should Simakan move to Leipzig or elsewhere, then Milan are ready to offer Tomori an 18-month loan deal to move to Italy until the end of next season.

The claims come less than a week after Grant took to his Instagram page to back Lampard - who scored 20 goals during 40 appearances in all competitions for the Blues during the season the Israeli was in charge - and insisted he should be given time to turn his and the club's fortunes around. There is a possibility he could be going on loan to get games somewhere else.

The Rossoneri have been flying this season, now sitting three points clear at the top of Serie A having lost just once.

Pioli's side beat lowly Torino 2-0 at home even without talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic while Antonio Conte's Inter were denied victory by a late equaliser in their 2-2 draw with Roma.

That news sparked Milan into action, with the Italian side plotting a bid.

Speaking to the press after the FA Cup win at Morecambe, Lampard saidd: 'The situation with Fikayo is open about the moment.

"That would have to be the right solution for him and the club".

Tomori earned his first senior cap for England after his initial emergence at Chelsea in 2019 but has become a forgotten figure at Stamford Bridge, though manager Frank Lampard is believed to view the academy graduate as part of his long-term plans.

"So while I was looking at starting him today, I was also looking at that".

Chelsea are now struggling in the Premier League as a run of one win in their last six leaves them in ninth spot.
