Deadpool 3 joining Marvel Cinematic Universe

Episode Count & Length For MCU Shows Including Loki She Hulk Revealed

Finally, the big boss of the MCU, Kevin Feige has weighed in on the progress - and there's good news if you were anxious that the edges would be filed off for the usually PG-13 Marvel universe.

Marvel Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.

Feige added that actor Ryan Reynolds, who will reprise the leading role, is also working with sisters Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux on the script.

Discussing who else from the MCU might turn up in the movie, now Deadpool has been fully embraced, will make the time fly no doubt.

So yeah, with the R rating (US classification) and the MCU connection confirmed, plus word that the script is underway, it's exciting stuff.... just don't expect it to be hitting cinemas all that soon.

Which means that Marvel is already developing projects that we won't even get to see until 2025 or 2026 (or maybe even later, if the ongoing pandemic gums up the works).

Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld previously criticised Marvel for the delay in starting work on the highly-anticipated third movie and said past year that the character "didn't fit" into their universe. "It will not be filming this year". As for Marvel's production timelines, Spider-Man 3, Eternals, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are now in post-production.

Not to mention the next wave of Disney+ series like Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight that also need to slot in there somewhere between them.

The only post-2022 MCU release confirmed so far is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for 2023, but we know that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Fantastic Four, and X-Men, as well as all the recently revealed Disney+ series like Blade, Secret Invasion, and Armor Wars are still in the pipeline as well.
