Tory Lanez Pleads Not Guilty In Megan Thee Stallion Case

Back in September, Daystar "Tory Lanez" Peterson used a large portion of his Daystar album to address the July 12 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in Hollywood Hills, California. If convicted, he could face up to 23 years in prison.

According to New York Daily News, Tory's lawyer Shawn Holley was in court on the artist's behalf, entering a not guilty plea for using a semiautomatic firearm to shoot and wound Megan Thee Stallion.

Among music-industry insiders, Megan is viewed as a strong contender for January's Grammy Awards, nominations for which are due to be announced next week.

Lanez, 28, was arraigned Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Megan Thee Stallion, whose legal name is Megan Pete, revealed a few days later that her foot injuries came from gunshots, and more than a month later said in an Instagram video that it was Lanez who fired them.

"The way people have publicly questioned and debated whether I played a role in my own violent assault proves that my fears about discussing what happened were, unfortunately, warranted", she wrote.

After being arrested in July, Tory Lanez was booked for having a concealed firearm in a vehicle.

A couple of disputes with her label would delay those plans though, and almost shelve her March project SUGA, but the musician prevailed and is going into the end of the year as one of only three female rappers to have more than one song top the Hot 100.
