Robert Streb holds onto lead at Sea Island

RSM Classic: Robert Streb takes three-shot lead over Zach Johnson into final round

The 33-year-old added another from eight feet at the 10th, and he holed from identical range on the 15th before missing further good chances on 16 and 17, a cast-iron par at the last wrapping up another excellent day.

Needless to say, Johnson was highly pleased with his putting during the round. It gets obviously the confidence, maybe even the freedom and momentum that can come off of that.

The way Robert Streb is playing this week, you wouldn't know he has finished in the top 10 only once in 2020 on the PGA Tour. "Felt like I birdied a lot of holes today that you're not supposed to birdie". He had one bogey.

Burgoon made five birdies in six holes on the back nine and matched Streb's 67 to stay three behind alongside Johnson, while Emiliano Grillo raced to 13 under when he got hot with the putter over the last four holes.

Burgoon had five birdies in a six-hole stretch on the back nine - the exception was a bogey on the 14th, playing straight into a strong wind along the water - to overcome a rough start and get into the final group. So it wasn't the greatest start, but I got out of there with a bunch of pars and tried to find some consistency and it got better.

Villegas opened with back-to-back birdies and picked up another stroke at the seventh before his lone bogey at the 11th.

"Honestly, this is kind of how my strategy works, was everything told me to look a couple paces right of it, so I did".

After opening with a 64, the former world No 7 made a 12-footer for eagle on the 18th at the Plantation Course for a six-under 66 that left him on 12-under par, two shots behind Robert Streb who fired a career-low, nine-under 63.

Landry, Matthew NeSmith (66) and Patton Kizzire (70) are another shot back in a tie for eighth.

The week was over for 22-year-old South Korean Im Sung-jae, who missed the cut a week after finishing with a share of second in his Masters debut at Augusta National.

Pre-tournament favourite Webb Simpson opened with a 2-under 68.
