Randy Arozarena Detained After Domestic Violence Allegations

Tampa Bay Rays postseason star Randy Arozarena was reportedly arrested in Mexico after an altercation with his ex-wife and ex-father-in-law, and an attempt to take his daughter from them.

Arozarena was detained in Merida, Yucatan following an apparent dispute with the mother of his daughter.

The Tampa Bay Rays outfielder has been detained "for problems relating to his ex-partner".

"The only thing I know is he was hyper-sensitive about making sure that the child's needs were being taken care of", Guerra told the Tampa Bay Times. "Everything is perspective", said Guerra, who had spoken to members of the family but not Arozarena. The Ahora reported that Arozarena was being held on abduction charges while the Diaro de Yucatan said he was being held on charges of violence against a woman. "He was always sending money down there, and he was very involved in her life".

Major League Baseball is likely to investigate under its joint domestic violence policy with the players' association. "I don't want to speculate about (anything else)". Even without the layer of translation, these situations are potentially more complex than a tweet or a short, breaking article allows you to see initially.

The 25-year-old propelled the Rays to the World Series with 10 home runs and 14 RBI in the playoffs.
