NASA astronaut Victor Glover shares first video from space

Glover made the 240-mile flight with his captain Michael Hopkins and fellow astronauts Shannon Walker and Soichi Noguchi of the Japanese space agency JAXA

NASA astronaut Victor Glover has shared a video showing a view of the Earth from inside the cabin of Crew Dragon. Part of the SpaceX Crew-1 mission, they were welcomed to the space station by NASA astronaut Kate Rubins and Russian cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov.

"Looking at the Earth through the window of Dragon Resilience. The scale of detail and sensory inputs made this a breathtaking perspective", he wrote while sharing the clip on Twitter.

'Flying has been such an important part of my professional life and I love to do it, ' Glover said in a NASA video. However, American astronauts who are away from their families at the International Space Station (ISS) have found their own way of celebrating the occasion.

The American space agency did not provide an explanation to why there was a crew change, but Epp's brother pointed to racism.

The extraordinary celebrations taking place inside ISS were explained by the five astronauts.

Speaking to The Christian Chronicle, he said, "I had some great fellows before me who could really do this, and there are some wonderful people who would go after me".

Glover is married to Dionna Odom, and they have four children.

The 44-year-old Southern California native graduated from Cal Poly in 1999 with an engineering degree.

Those close to Glover refer to him as "Ike", referring to a communication signal given to him by a former commanding officer that means "I know everything".
