Montrezl Harrell agrees to deal with Lakers

Lou Williams Montrezl Harrell and Kawhi Leonard

Reigning sixth man of the year Montrezl Harrell is changing teams without even changing area codes. Caldwell-Pope is seeking a raise from the $8.4 million he opted out from receiving next season. According to the people, Harrell turned down a larger offer from the Charlotte Hornets to play with James and the Lakers.

Harrell was third on the Clippers in scoring last season (18.6 points) and tied for first in rebounding (7.1).

Those dropped 10.5 points and 2.9 rebounds, respectively, in the playoffs.

One of the chief reasons the Clippers were picked to win it all by many observers was their bench, which possessed not only Harrell but also guard Lou Williams, a three-time Sixth Man of the Year. Lakers superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis are Klutch Sports clients as well, so Harrell will fit in well with the LakeShow.

The 26-year-old becomes Lakers vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka's latest high-profile acquisition this offseason.

Morris played in only 19 regular-season games and 13 postseason games for the Clippers, who fell short of their title goal by blowing a 3-1 lead and losing in the second round to Denver.

However, it appears the Cleveland Cavaliers could lose the center to the Los Angeles Clippers after Friday's bevy of free-agency action.
