Mitt Romney issues scathing statement condemning President Trump's voter fraud claims

Biden has been projected to capture 306 electoral votes, well above the 270 minimum threshold.

Biden has captured 306 electoral votes to Trump's 232 in the state-by-state Electoral College that determines the victor of the election, well above the 270 needed for victory.

The Trump campaign in addition to state-specific challenges, has asked the Justice Department to probe Dominion Voting Systems, which they have claimed deleted and reversed votes in Biden's favor.

During a press conference in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday, Biden said Americans are "witnessing incredible irresponsibility, incredibly damaging messages are being sent to the rest of the world about how democracy functions". Detroit, the state's largest city, is in the county.

Maricopa County officials are expected to certify elections results on Friday. "We won't let them!" At one point, Knudson even appeared to question whether absentee ballots requested through the elections commission's state website were invalid because of how the requests are recorded.

Hogan, by contrast, told The Associated Press recently that Trump's wild and unsupported claims of widespread voter fraud were "dangerous" and "embarrassing". The judge has yet to rule on the case. There are claims that partisan poll watchers were too far away to observe well and therefore something fishy was probably going on.

Each state usually determines these according to who won the popular vote there.

"Michigan law does not include a provision for the Legislature to directly select electors or to award electors to anyone other than the person who received the most votes", Shirkey's spokeswoman said last week.

"There is no legal mechanism for them to rescind their vote". She said she voted to approve the results because she thought the state would conduct an audit. Biden won statewide by 20,608 votes.

Trump's campaign dropped a federal lawsuit on Thursday challenging the election results in MI, citing the Wayne County officials' affidavits. The Trump campaign then has until Tuesday to request an additional recount, which would be by machine rather than by hand.

President Donald Trump's strategy for retaining power despite losing the USA election is focused increasingly on persuading Republican legislators to intervene on his behalf in battleground states Democrat Joe Biden won, three people familiar with the effort said.

The recount added an additional 5,262 ballots that had gone previously uncounted, representing roughly.1% of the overall vote total.

He added: 'And that was before any evidence had been gathered'.

Mr Giuliani said the campaign was withdrawing its lawsuit in MI. Among other severe problems, it prevents the release of $9.9 million in funds for salaries, office space and other necessities; it prevents the incoming administration from gaining access to data and information it needs to hit the ground running on January 20; it impedes the recruitment of 4,000 political appointees, including 1,250 who require Senate confirmation; and it keeps Biden from receiving the president's daily intelligence briefing. Trump carried three of these four counties.

State law requires all counties to certify votes by November 23 with the final certification by the state set for November 30. The battle is centred in the states that sealed Biden's win.

On Thursday, a federal judge in Arizona dismissed a Republican Party lawsuit seeking to expand the state's election audit.

"This is not an indication that any votes were improperly cast or counted", Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said. The campaign's lawyers conceded the small number of ballots would not change the outcome.
