Donald Trump Jnr, the son of President Donald Trump, tested positive for Covid-19 this week, although he is experiencing no symptoms, according to his spokesman.

He is reportedly asymptomatic and quarantining at a private location following the test result.

Mr Trump Jr is the latest member of the president's family to become infected with the virus.

"Don tested positive at the start of the week and has been quarantining out at his cabin since the result", the spokesperson said.

The president, the first lady and their son Barron have recovered from the virus.

Trump's girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle had tested positive for coronavirus over the summer.

Trump Jr. was among the roughly 250 guests who attended the White House's indoor election night party, where almost every attendee was seen not wearing a mask. The president's eldest son is also said to be following all medically recommended COVID-19 guildelines. A source familiar with the matter had told CNN at the time that all guests were to receive a rapid test for Covid-19.

The White House has been the scene of several outbreaks in recent months, including one linked to an event held for Amy Coney Barrett and, more recently, a White House election night party with few masks and little social distancing, after which multiple attendees tested positive.
