Cardinals Hoping Kyler Murray Shoulder Issue Isn't A Problem

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson greets running back Carlos Hyde after Hyde scored a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals during the second half of an NFL football game Thursday Nov. 19 2020 in Seattle

And in a game that many likely expected to explode into a shootout - like the teams' week seven matchup - it was actually the Seahawks' defense that clinched the victory.

The Cardinals had some tricks of their own last night. And in doing so, they appeared to signal that they'd be ready to complement Russell Wilson and the offense on a potentially deep playoff run.

One really indicative play of how well Seattle kept Murray's running contained was turned in by K.J. Wright when he tackled Murray on a 2-yard loss on a third-and-1 in the second quarter. Wilson completed all five of his pass attempts and rushed for nine yards, concluding the drive with a 25-yard strike to DK Metcalf.

Isaiah Simmons would shine for the Cardinals, finishing the game with 10 tackles including two tackles for a loss and a sack. Looking at fourth and ten, Murray was taken down by defensive end Carlos Dunlap.

"It seems like the pass rush and the coverage kinda matched up", said Wyman, who then alluded to the Seahawks team that won the Super Bowl in Avril's first season with Seattle. The Seahawks Defense has bothered him far more thus far. The division could come down to Rams-Seahawks in Week 16.

The Seahawks also elevated defensive tackle Damon "Snacks" Harrison and running back Bo Scarbrough off the practice squad for Thursday night's game. Murray was 29 of 42 for 269 yards and two TDs, but Seattle was able to get the kind of pressure on the QB that was missing from the first meeting. In his return from injury, Hyde would rush for 79-yards on 14 carries.

That lackluster rushing performance was Murray's worst rushing performance of the season. He found open receivers, like Larry Fitzgerald, Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins, to make several key advances, but the touchdowns by Chase Edmonds and Dan Arnold were the biggest threats to Seattle's dominance.

Wilson threw two interceptions as the slumping Seahawks lost for the third time in four games, beaten 23-16 by the Los Angeles Rams in the National Football League on Sunday. Russell Wilson making plays without being asked to do everything. The Seahawks outrushed Arizona with a total of 165 rushing yards at the conclusion of the game. Metcalf finished with 46 yards on three receptions but also had a drop.

Wilson contributed two touchdowns through the air, but Wilson's big arm was not needed much to beat the Cardinals Thursday night thanks to a dominant ground performance. And just like that, the Seahawks (7-3) look primed to emerge as the NFC West champs.

Finally, the Seahawks have the easiest remaining schedule in the NFL. However, they were down by just a touchdown after recovering from the sting, and were able to come knocking on the Seahawks' door with a series of plays that was setting them up for a potential game-tying score.

The teams combined for seven punts in the first 30 minutes.

The Cardinals begin their season-ending six-game stretch with a road match-up against the New England Patriots.
