Warner's last over blitz takes SRH into Super Over

IPL 2020 Morgan Karthik propel KKR to 163/5 against SRH

The 35th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will see action between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Super-Sunday doubleheader at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai. "I am quite disappointed", Warner said during the post-match presentation via host broadcaster Star Sports. We've come too close in the last three games and we haven't got across the line.

A fine all-round bowling effort from the KKR bowlers restricted SRH to 142 for 4 in Abu Dhabi - in the first encounter between the two teams in IPL 2020. "It held up a little bit in the middle overs but at the end of the day, there's no excuse", he added.

Both batsmen took charge against Hyderabad pace bowlers Thangarasu Natarajan (2-46) and Basil Thampi (1-46) in the last five overs that gave Kolkata 58 vital runs. The good news is that SRH have a good net run rate which can prove handy as teams prepare for their race to seal a berth in the playoffs. Warner was unbeaten on 47 off 33 balls. The Australian struggled to get going for most of the season before finally taking the reins in the last over bowled by Andre Russell. Ferguson dismissed David Warner and Abdul Samad in the Super Over, leaving KKR with only a three run-target to chase.

Left needing just three to win off leg-spinner Rashid Khan, Kolkata captain Eoin Morgan combined with the man he recently replaced in the job, Dinesh Karthik, to complete the job, the pair having earlier made 34 and 29 not out respectively.

"I thought this was a nice wicket that wouldn't change and to be fair it didn't... we lost wickets at crucial times again".

"He's got a niggle near the top end of his adductors, so hopefully he gets some physio treatment in the next couple of days and comes up for our next game", said Warner.
