‘May good triumph over evil’: Joe Biden, Kamala Harris extend Navratri greetings

Mr Biden and Mrs Harris campaigned in Arizona together last Thursday

Democratic former Vice President Joe Biden's campaign announced Harris would return to Cleveland, though did not provide specific details on where or when.

Allen and the flight crew member had attended personal, non-campaign events since they were last near Harris and were tested before they returned to work.

Biden, 77, is challenging President Donald Trump, a Republican, who is seeking another term in the November 3 presidential election.

"Neither of these people have had contact with Vice President Biden, Senator Harris or any other staffers since testing positive or in the 48 hours prior to their positive test results", said Biden Campaign Manager Jen O'Malley Dillon in a statement.

When pressed on whether the campaign can continue a robust travel schedule given the rising rates of COVID-19 across the country, including in key battleground states like Wisconsin, the campaign says there is an ongoing discussion about the safety of travel in the final 19 days of the campaign.

But while neither Harris nor Emhoff met the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention definition for close contact, the campaign said their upcoming events would be canceled out of caution. Dillon said that duration didn't meet the CDC's threshold for constituting being in "close contact".

According to the campaign, Harris and Emhoff have taken multiple PCR tests since October 8 - the most recent on Thursday - and all have been negative.

She was scheduled to campaign in North Carolina on Thursday. Both travelled with the Democratic senator during a campaign trip in Arizona on October 8. It marks Harris' first visit to Cleveland since she headlined the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party's annual dinner during her presidential campaign. In fact, the Vice President did not even have passing contact: this individual was over 50 feet from VP Biden at all times, entered and exited the aircraft from a rear entrance, and both the individual and the Vice President wore masks for the entire flight.

The campaign detailed how the positive staffers were detected and the protocols put in place to protect the candidates and staff.

The Harris team has said that they will conduct contact tracing for everyone who came into contact with the two infected individuals. Today's exceedingly cautious steps are part of that commitment, ' Dillon said.
