Paramount+ will also heavily increase upon CBS All Access' original series output, which included five new orders on Tuesday, highlighted by a revival of BET's "The Game" and a reimagined "Behind the Music".

No price point was announced for the service but ViacomCBS said that it will launch in "early 2021" in the USA, with initial worldwide expansion into Australia, Latin America and the Nordics. "The Paramount+ streaming service will elevate ViacomCBS' iconic family of brands".

ViacomCBS announced today that CBS All Access will be rebranded as Paramount+ starting in 2021. It later pushed that timeframe back to 2021, but continued to roll out new content.

CBS All Access, one of the first streaming platforms from a traditional TV company to hit the marketplace in 2014, made a name for itself with a new "Star Trek" series.

CBS All Access is now offered as part of the first Apple TV+ bundle, which includes both the service and Showtime for an additional $9.99 per month.

Joining The Offer on Paramount+ are four other original titles, including Lioness, a spy drama from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan that "follows a young Marine recruited to befriend the daughter of a terrorist to bring the organization down from within".

They will join the previously announced Spongebob spin-off "Kamp Koral" series, along with the being the SVOD home of The Spongebob Movie: "Sponge on the Run".

ViacomCBS says in the weeks since the July addition of content, All Access broke a new record for total monthly streams in August and experienced one of its best months ever in terms of new subscriber sign-ups (though revealed no actual numbers).

The move comes as the company expands content on the platform to incorporate more from its cable properties following the merger of Viacom and CBS past year.

The streaming service is also getting more content in coming months.

It's official, CBS All Access is changing its name to Paramount+ next year.

Josh Line, chief brand officer, ViacomCBS, said: "The Paramount brand is known and loved all around the world, and is synonymous with great entertainment".

Paramount+, notably, is also the latest to embrace the plus sign (+) suffix as part of its branding, following the launch of newer streaming services like Disney+, Apple TV+, ESPN+, TiVo+, and just yesterday, the kids-focused media catalog, Amazon Kids+.
