Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 750G chip brings an AI-driven noise supression tech

Qualcomm's mid-range chip uses AI to clean up the audio on voice calls

The G at the end of the name is an indicator that Qualcomm is pitching this at gaming, saying that it will offer 10-bit HDR support in gaming. When it comes to display, Snapdragon 750G enables FHD+ screen resolution at 120Hz and QHD resolution at 60Hz. "We are proud to work with Qualcomm Technologies to launch the first commercial smartphone based on the latest Snapdragon 750G to consumers".

Qualcomm's always-on Sensing Hub also comes with the 750G, which enables AI-based echo cancellation and background noise suppression for improved voice-chat experiences.

With up to 4.0 Trillion Operations Per Second (TOPS), the Qualcomm AI Engine claims to deliver up to 20 per cent improvement compared to Snapdragon 730G and it also features Qualcomm Kryo 570 CPU, which delivers up to 20 per cent compared to Snapdragon 730G. Together with the Snapdragon Elite Gaming suite of options, it additionally allows HDR gameplay on smartphones. And, the Wi-Fi 6-ready Qualcomm FastConnect 6200 Mobile Connectivity Subsystem supports stable, secure connections for that home-field advantage that also includes Bluetooth 5.1 and Snapdragon X52 Modem-RF system for 5G connectivity. They promised that the 750G will deliver 20% better CPU performance and 10% better GPU performance compared to the 730G.

We don't know yet in which device we will see this processor make its debut.

Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon 750G in the mobile chip market, covering the entire 5G band spectrum. It brings some improvements over the Snapdragon 730G SoC and is placed between the Snapdragon 730G and the Snapdragon 765G SoC, as the name suggests. Xiaomi will be the first OEM to ship a device with Snapdragon 750G.

Speaking of 5G, the Snapdragon 750G offers peak speeds of up to 3.7Gbps (download) and 1.6Gbps (upload) with 5G connectivity.
