Microsoft xCloud to launch on Xbox Game Pass with over 150 games

xCloud renamed to Cloud Gaming, launches tomorrow with 150+ games - MSPoweruser

Microsoft's xCloud games streaming service is available from today in 22 countries worldwide.

Game Pass Ultimate is tied to an Xbox gamers Xbox Live account which stores all save files for their Xbox One games in the cloud for free to instantly play on their new streaming service.

The list of titles includes Gears 5, Destiny 2, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Grounded, Sea of Thieves, Darksiders III, Ark: Survival Evolved, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Nisshagen says that Minecraft Dungeons played via xCloud will "feel like it was designed specifically for mobile, bringing a level of familiarity to those who've been playing mobile games or Minecraft on a phone or tablet for years".

Xbox has revealed the full catalogue of Xbox games playable via Android mobile as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate releases on Android from tomorrow including Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Cloud Gaming.

It's not yet clear if or when the service will go live in South Africa.

The service is now not yet available for iOS users due to Apple previously blocking services such as xCloud. Apple wants the games that will be available to stream with Project xCloud (or Google Stadia) to also be available as standalone packages within the App Store. However, it remains to be seen if Apple changes its policies to allow game streaming services on the iPhone or if Microsoft gives in and plays by Apple's rules.

New members to the service can now join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate today for just $1 for the first month.

In fact, Microsoft is saying that subscribers will be able to play over 150 games starting tomorrow.

Microsoft has so far decided against doing that, calling the move a "bad experience for customers".
