James Cameron says Avatar 2 is complete, Avatar 3 is almost finished

Avatar 2 Complete Avatar 3 Nearly Done Filming Reveals James Cameron

As per the latest news reports, director James Cameron has stated that the upcoming film Avatar 2 is completed with respect to its filming. However, Cameron was keen to stress that this doesn't mean he'll have an extra year to work on Avatar 2, as the moment he delivers the finished version of the blockbuster he'll immediately to get work on "finishing Avatar 3". We're 100% complete on Avatar 2, and we're sort of 95% complete on Avatar 3. We're shooting the remainder of the live-action.

"I know you're in the middle of shooting Avatar, I know you had to get up now to do this interview because of the time change in New Zealand and all that stuff, tell me, is there anything that we should know?"

In the wake of those eight theatrical release date changes, Avatar 2 is now slated to premiere on December 16, 2022 and Avatar 3 on December 20, 2024. Once again - and to absolutely no one's shock/horror/surprise - this release date has been pushed back an entire year. While the actor and director mostly spoke about veganism and environmental issues, Schwarzenegger snuck in a question about the Avatar sequels. Cameron and Schwarzenegger have collaborated on The Terminator series and True Lies.

The much-awaited sequels to blockbuster hit Avatar are nearly complete, according to director James Cameron. Avatar 2's release, as previously announced, "rolled around a full year" because of the pandemic lockdowns, Cameron added.

Amid the pandemic, when most of the shootings have been halted, the New Zealand government allowed a 30-member crew of the movie to come to the country to continue their production.

It also stars Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Edie Falco, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Oona Chaplin, Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis.

"We're able to shoot, we're able to operate, and we're able to have more or less a normal life here". The Avatar sequel is said to trace the story of the offspring of Jake Sully (Worthington) and Neytiri (Saldana).
