Charles Barkley Says Defund The Police Movement Is 'Crap,' 'Stop That'

Charles Barkley

Former NBA stars Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal are facing a wave of criticism after appearing to sympathize with the officers involved in the high-profile shooting of Breonna Taylor in March. "Because they're not gonna defund the police in the good white neighborhoods, so we need police reform".

Instead, Barkley says the solution to the issues is police and prison reform.

Barkley said on the "NBA on TNT" broadcast that Taylor's death can not be put in the same category as those of George Floyd or Ahmaud Arbery.

"I didn't know I could be this disgusted by Charles Barkley", Democrat strategist Adam Parkhomenko tweeted, along with others who expressed similar views. "White neighborhoods and rich neighborhoods", Barkley said. "So we have to stop that "defund" or "abolish the cops" crap".

He continued, "And I just feel bad that the young lady lost her life".

Barkley's comments are thus is stark contrast to that of LeBron James and other National Basketball Association players, who believe Breonna Taylor's boyfriend was not at fault at all. "So like I said, even though I'm really sorry she lost her life, I don't think we can just say we can put this in the same situation with George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, I just don't believe that".

Former Louisville police Officer Brett Hankison was indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree, a Jefferson County grand jury announced Wednesday. "I have to agree with Charles, this one is sort of lumped in", said O'Neal.

"The no-knock warrant is something we need to get rid of.across the board", he told broadcasters ahead of the showdown between James's Lakers and the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. And everyone is asking for murder charges.

'When you have a warrant signed by the judge, you are doing your job, and I would imagine that you would fire back'.
