Carrie Underwood Left'Laughing and Crying Over Son's Contribution in New Christmas Song

"My Gift" will be Underwood's seventh studio album and her first-ever, full-length Christmas album. Underwood will appear with a live orchestra and choir, performing a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating her faith and the spiritual nature of the holiday, as well as new original material from the highly anticipated album, available Friday, September 25th and on vinyl on October 30th. "The Herald Angels Sing", "The First Noel", "What Child Is This" and "O Holy Night" for a special holiday edition of her Carnival Ride album, which she released as a Walmart exclusive in 2007. "Creating this album has been good for my heart, and I'm happy to share it with the world and to make it live with Playtone and HBO Max".

Tom Hanks will executive produce the special along with Gary Goetzman for Playtone Productions.

Buddy Iahn founded The Music Universe when he made a decision to juxtapose his love of web design and music. The holiday event is set to shoot this fall. She's also a New York Times bestselling author, and all seven of her albums, including her Greatest Hits album, have been certified platinum or multi-platinum. "Let There Be Peace" is the lead single from the new holiday record.

"We did everything very much like we're doing this morning; we did things via Zoom", Underwood told "Today" hosts. "We're trying to enjoy it", she said.

"I had to call it", she adds, saying that she and her team had to carve out the time after finishing the touring cycle for her most recent album, 2018's Cry Pretty.

The virtual awards show was relocated from Las Vegas to Nashville this year (as well as postponed from April) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She is a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry and founder/lead designer for her fitness and lifestyle brand, CALIA by Carrie Underwood.
