The Oppo Watch goes global with Wear OS on board

After enjoying success in the smartphone market, Oppo is venturing into the smartwatch category. Oppo Watch will also reportedly launch in India alongside Reno 4 Pro. Notably, the Oppo Watch is the first smartwatch to be launched with WearOS by Google in the country. Unlike its Chinese counterpart, the OPPO Watch that was announced today runs on Google's Wear OS. We will just have to wait for a couple of hours more to find out how much the smartphone will cost in India. Matter of fact, there are several Oppo phones that spot the curved display.

The 46mm variant is available in black and Glossy Gold colours while the 41mm version will arrive in black, Pink Gold and Silver Mist.

Among the other features the phone boasts of include an in-screen fingerprint sensor for user authentication. The smartwatch comes with sport tracking modes such as indoor and outdoor cycling, outdoor walking, swimming, etc. There are 5 sensors and a Global Positioning System installed to accurately tracks all of your stats. Sleep Tracking is also included with this Oppo Watch.

As for the 41 mm version, it comes with a 1.6-inch AMOLED screen and weighs a little less. The screen-to-body ratio will be 92.01 per cent and it will use Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.

Coming to the specifications of both the variants, the 41mm version of the smartwatch features a 1.6-inch AMOLED display with a 320x360 pixel resolution and 330ppi pixel density. Outside, there are two buttons, out of which one os programmable to any shortcut. Considering its price, the Oppo Watch can compete against other premium smartwatches from rival brands. Meaning that you can not slap any other smartwatch's band on this watch.

Oppo's first smart watch also comes with a Snapdragon 3100 Wear processor, Qualcomm's model designed for wearable devices.

Software-wise OPPO have included their own app for your phone to help you manage your watchface and more - they even have an AI functionality that allows you to take a photo with your phone and the app will make a watchface to match your outfit.

Oppo Reno4 Pro comes equipped with a 4,000mAh battery pack with the company's super-fast 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging support. In the United Kingdom, you can expect the cellular version to operate on Vodafone, Orange and Celcom, with the WiFi version starting at £229 and the LTE model going for £329. While the larger 46mm will shell out £369 (around $480) from your pocket.
