James Murdoch Resigns From News Corp Board Over Editorial ‘Disagreements’

"Mr. Murdoch informed the Company that his resignation was due to disagreements over certain editorial content published by the Company's news outlets and certain other strategic decisions".

News Corp's brands include Australian publications the Australian, the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Telegraph, and United States publishers such as Dow Jones, which includes the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post.

The big picture: News Corp.is one of two media companies operated by the Murdoch family, the other being Fox Corp., the parent company of Fox News and the Fox broadcast network.

Ina filing with the SEC, News Corp. said it has "received a letter from James R. Murdoch tendering his resignation from the Company's Board of Directors (the "Board"), effective immediately".

Both remain on the News Corp board, which is now left with 10 directors.

News Corp also publishes major papers in Australia and the United Kingdom and owns the HarperCollins book publisher. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.
