GMC dishes more details on upcoming Hummer EV

GMC Hummer EV prototypes revealed, debut rescheduled for fall

With around 1000bhp and 11,500lb ft of torque, it is claimed to be capable of 0-60mph in 3sec and takes its power from GM's new Ultium battery pack, which is capable of "super-fast charging" and is expected to offer a range of up to 400 miles.

General Motors originally planned to unveil the rebooted Hummer on May 20 but postponed the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

General Motors Company (GMC) has just dropped a bomb in the form of a teaser of the upcoming Hummer EV.

GMC previously announced the return of the original electric truck in its ad during the famous United States sports event Super Bowl, featuring LeBron James.

When GM announced it was bringing Hummer back as a new all-electric crossover and pickup truck brand, we were all left to wonder if the truck would go for utility or aesthetics.

A latest video released by GM provides a short look at the development of what is called the supertruck and there are many cool elements that we can notice. The GMC Hummer EV will feature modes named "adrenaline" and "crab". New information was shared for the vehicle, the official launch date of which is not yet known.

While the pickup version of the Hummer EV is expected to be available by Fall 2021, the SUV version will most likely arrive later. The silhouette of the new SUV looks very similar to the Hummer H3 SUV of the past.

Still no word on pricing, but we should know almost everything in the Fall of 2020 about the GMC Hummer EV pickup. At that time, GMC says it will reveal the truck and open reservations. Expect deliveries in that timeframe as well.

The film shows a seven-bar backlit grille, with the word "Hummer" projected between the headlights. We hope that both vehicles come in at a reasonable price, get made on schedule, and deliver on lofty stated stats and features.
