Nine New COVID-19 Cases Announced Wednesday in Lewis County

Douglas County has reported 635 cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, an increase of five cases since Wednesday.

The Indiana State Department of Health announced that 970 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the state which brings the state total to 65,253.

There have been 10,093 total cases since the outbreak began and 6,650 recoveries. That number "does not include those who have died; the cumulative number was adjusted to reflect that change".

Since March, 1,756 people have been diagnosed with the disease in Clark County.

"It took almost 4 months into the pandemic for Jackson County to hit 100 cases", said Jackson Baures, division manager for Jackson County Public Health.

WASHINGTON COUNTY. Two new cases were reported Tuesday in Washington County by the district health department.

It was the third straight day with a reported death at the long-term care facility, which is the site of the second deadliest outbreak of COVID-19 locally to date.

According to MDH, 5,112 total cases have required hospitalization. Twenty people remain isolated at home, and 49 have recovered.
