"The search managers, those that are responsible for managing the overall search, they may get to a point in time where they've expelled every resource, they've searched every area, the probability of detection of finding someone in a particular area they've exhausted and when we get to that point that's probably when they'll have to suspend the search, but we're not there yet". "We have no indication that after talking to her son that Ms. Rivera made it to shore", the Ventura County Sheriff's Office shared.

Dyer said while Lake Piru isn't more risky than other lakes, the water can be deep in some areas and has tall underwater vegetation that could entangle swimmers.

Police have released CCTV footage of their Glee celebrity pulling up in Lake Piru on her black Mercedes on Thursday, prior to getting out of their vehicle along with her mum boy Josey and dressing up the ship they hired.

Heather Morris, who played Rivera's love interest on "Glee", released a statement about her friend, saying, "It's so hard to wrap your head around something unknown". The Santa Clarita native gained praise for her performance as a gay cheerleader in the high school musical drama.

Naya then opens up the trunk and appears to grab a very large white bag.

At the 16-minute footage, Rivera is observed sporting a cap and carrying out a massive white purse over her shoulderas Josey follows tightly behind her in their way into the pier. They went searching for the ship 30 moments later Rivera had neglected to return. The pontoon boat soon became a spot on the lake's horizon. New reports claim California law enforcement believe she likely drowned after renting a boat with her four-year-old son.

"The emergency is: We have a missing person", an employee of the rental boat business said.

Where is Naya Rivera's son? The boy was able to get back on the boat, but his mother did not. The child, who was wearing a life jacket, returned to the boat, while his mother did not. After speaking with the boy, deputies determined he was the last to see his mother, but couldn't determine whether he saw her go underwater. Authorities were informed of Rivera's disappearance and a search team was created. Authorities' efforts have been focused on the north side of the lake, where the boy was found.

As of Friday morning, the search for Rivera neared its second full day, and the search has shifted to a recovery operation. During a Thursday conference, Sgt. Kevin Donoghue of the Ventura County Sheriff's Office gave an update to media.
