Monroe County records one new COVID-19 death

Lewis and Clark County adds one COVID-19 case

As a public service, Shaw Media will provide open access to information related to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) emergency.

The Douglas County Health Department reported 65 new cases of COVID-19 and three additional deaths.

It was the single biggest day increase in the county since June 22.

"Today we continue to show a continued downward trend line in positive cases reported", health Director Bruce Robistow said in his afternoon update.

The only ZIP code without any new cases announced since last week was the 98531 ZIP code, where the amount of cases in somewhere in the 1-9 case range, according to county data.

The county's death toll from COVID-19 is now 270. "As we do more testing, we will have more positive cases". There are now 18 active cases in Hopkins County. The first case was reported in Marshall County on March 23.

Public health officials from Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Department were notified of the positive tests, according to state and local public health protocols. The 60112 ZIP code (including Cortland) had 29 cases and 360 tests. Black people make up three percent of the county and nine percent of cases.

The County is urging those with symptoms of COVID-19 to call the Screening Hotline to speak with a nurse at 785-323-6400. As of Monday, 1,602,965 tests have been performed. The site also lists statewide recovery rates, calculated by recovered cases divided by the sum of recovered cases and dead cases. It remains at 94%.
