Leroy Sane leaving Manchester City for Bayern Munich

Leroy Sane

Manchester City are interested in Bayern Munich winger Coman and midfielder Thiago, according to French outlet Foot Mercato. The club is believed to happy with the money recuperated with uncertainty surrounding the transfer market amid the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on football finances.

He was a key component in the City side that claimed a domestic treble last term, but has spent much of this season out with a knee injury.

Sane, whose City contract was due to expire at the end of next season, is set to sign a five-year deal with the German club.

"I'm so disappointed", he said.

Having already managed Thiago at both Barcelona and Bayern, Guardiola knows the player well, and it seems like he wants to find out whether a City move would be tempting. "When we make an offer it's because we want him; he's got a special quality that is hard to find".

Sane, who is expected to be in Germany for a medical on Wednesday, won't be eligible to play for Bayern until next season but will not play for City again.

His only appearance since August was a 10-minute cameo in the 5-0 victory over Burnley in June.

City were resigned to selling the 24-year-old after manager Pep Guardiola confirmed the Germany worldwide had turned down the Premier League club's offers of a new contract "two or three times".
