Champions League: Bayern Munich await Barcelona or Napoli in quarterfinals

Champions League draw: European giants discover their fate

In the remaining fixtures, Atletico Madrid will face Germany's RB Leipzig, while the winners of the Napoli-Barcelona tie will face either Bayern Munich or Chelsea.

City hold a 2-1 advantage over the 13-time European champions but, after Friday's draw paired the victor of their last-16 tie against Lyon or Juventus, they will have to try and seal a place at the final stages in Lisbon without their all-time record goalscorer.

However, the final few games of the competition will see a "final-eight" mini-tournament take place in Portugal on 12 August.

Whoever wins the tie, will take on either Lyon or Juventus.

The return games will be played in the grounds they were scheduled for before lockdown, meaning Real Madrid will travel to Manchester for their big game against City.

The second legs of the round of 16 fixtures between Manchester City and Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, Juventus and Lyon and Barcelona and Napoli still need to be played at the teams' respective stadiums August 7-8.

In the same half of the draw, either Wolverhampton Wanderers or Olympiakos will advance to play either Sevilla or Roma in the quarterfinals.

City now sit in second place in the Premier League table so are on course to qualify for the Champions League.

Rangers trail the German side 3-1 following March's first leg match in Glasgow.

The matches are due to be played on August 7 and August 8.

The UEFA Champions League 2019-20 quarter-finals and semi-finals draw was held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday.

Not only is a trophy available, but the victory in the Europa League will mean automatic qualification for next season's Champions League.
