Watch Party requires the host and the participants to have Amazon Prime.

This week, Amazon is beginning to roll out the Watch Party feature on Prime Video for United States subscribers at no additional cost.

The app is completely free to download though an Amazon Prime subscription is naturally needed to view premium content.

To begin, the party host, who controls playback features for their audience, can click "Watch Party" on any video-on-demand title included with Prime membership and share a private link with family and friends. The video watch party feature includes more than a thousand titles to choose from which users can enjoy with their gang. This will generate a link that you can share through any method you choose, but the people you send it to will still need to be Prime subscribers based in the USA in order to join. Watch Party sessions can support up to 100 participants, but everyone in the Watch Party needs to be in the United States and have either an Amazon Prime membership or a Prime Video subscription. The host can even line-up movies and shows for binge-watching.

"Watch movies and TV shows recommended for you, including Amazon Originals like The Boys, Hunters, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, and much more", the app description reads. The titles have to be available for streaming, though, as Watch Party does not now support rentals or purchases.
