India’s COVID-19 fight people-driven, PM Modi tells Indian-origin doctors

Watch Interpreting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Statement on China

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 4 pm on Tuesday, a day after the Centre announced more relaxations to the lockdown enforced to contain the coronavirus outbreak. The announcement comes right after the Indian government just banned 59 Chinese apps in the country.

"In Ladakh, a befitting reply has been given to those coveting our territories", said Prime Minister Modi during "Mann Ki Baat". If you don't wear masks, follow social distancing & other precautions, you put yourself as well as others at risk. "Our courageous soldiers have proven that they will not let anyone cast an evil eye on the glory and honour of Mother India", he had said. Their valour will always be remembered.

Sharing the statistics of various countries, Modi said India has performed much better in the fight against the coronavirus. The Prime Minister highlighted that India's responsibility and commitment to the global community to play an enabling role in global vaccination efforts against Covid-19.

The Chinese Foreign and Defense Ministries have both released statements blaming India for sending patrols into Chinese territory.

India claims that the attack was planned and premeditated from the Chinese side.

"Our forces have given a befitting reply to those who looked towards India with threatening intensions".

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a veiled jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his radio programme "Mann Ki Baat" on Sunday, asking that when will there be a talk on national security and defence.

Amid the rising tension between India and China following the clashes at the borders two weeks ago, India bans 59 Chinese mobile applications on Monday. The list includes TikTok, ShareIT, UC Browser, SHEIN, Club Factory among several popular applications.
