Todd Tilghman was declared the 2020 victor of The Voice during a special three-hour finale episode on Tuesday night (May 19).

Todd Tilghman wins "The Voice!".

The finale episode aired remotely from each of the coaches and contestants' homes due to the ongoing pandemic.

"When my name was called, I blacked out", Tilghman said during a press conference with the country star following the win. He's somebody everybody hopes they can meet one day - I'm not surprised ... There's no excuses. It's time.

The five remaining finalists - Micah Iverson from Team Kelly, Thunderstorm Artis from Team Nick, CammWess from Team John, Toneisha Harris and Todd Tilghman from Team Blake - battled it out for the crown on the virtual finale.

The show's first remote finale, which wrapped up its 18th season, combined 21 livestreamed performances from the contestants, their four coaches and special appearances from singers Shakira and Bon Jovi, reported USA Today.

Shelton, who is self-isolating with girlfriend Gwen Stefani and his family in Oklahoma, performed his famous single Nobody But You with her.
