Samsung Announces Outdoors TV and Soundbar

The Terrace

Samsung Electronics announced today the expansion of its award-winning lifestyle Home Entertainment portfolio with the addition of The Terrace, its first outdoor 4K QLED TV and accompanying soundbar.

A Samsung Australia spokesperson told ChannelNews: "The Terrace TV and accompanied soundbar range from Samsung are exciting additions to a growing portfolio of TV and audio products that are created to provide specific home entertainment experiences".

The Terrace offers a crystal-clear display with a brightness level of 2,000 nits, Samsung says.

To minimise glare from harsh light sources, the display is coated with anti-reflection and adaptive picture technology which optimises content by analysing its surroundings.

It is designed with weather in mind - with an IP55 rating, the Terrace's display boasts weather-resistant durability against water and dust, and comes fitted for easy installation outdoors across a variety of settings.

This durability does not come at a cost to a sleek and slim design, as it measures only 59.8mm in thickness. It runs on Tizen, which is Samsung's own Smart TV platfom, which also integrates most mainstream voice assistants.

Alongside the new display, Samsung launched the Terrace Soundbar with built-in woofers, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, and distortion cancelling technology.

Alongside The Terrace TV, Samsung has also launched The Terrace Soundbar, which provides more dynamic sound for outdoor viewing set-ups.

The Terrace TV is now available to consumers in the U.S. and Canada.

At the moment, the Terrace is only launching in the USA and Canada, with a rollout to other select markets to begin later this year.

The Terrace QLED 4K Smart TV comes in 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch models.

1 High motion rate may vary by country. The soundbar is also IP55 rated to be weather-resistant and durable outdoors. Another announcement at the online event included the debut of two new sizes (32 inches and 75 inches) for The Frame TV, joining the existing 43, -, 50-, 55- and 65-inch models.
