Riot Games announced today that Valorant, their highly-anticipated 5v5 team-based shooter, will officially launch on June 2.

Here's Riot's Anna Donlon, Executive Producer, and Joe Ziegler, Game Director, chatting about the bit 1.0. All we know is there's "new game content, a new game mode, a new agent, and a new map at launch".

"Our goal has always been to bring Valorant to as much of the world as soon as possible, so we're hyped to be able to do so on June 2", says Donlon in an official press release.

Obviously this would cause higher latencies, but atleast we're getting to play it at launch, unlike Vietnam.

Invitations to the closed beta test were given out to those who hooked up their Riot Games accounts with their Twitch accounts and who watched Valorant Twitch streams over the last few weeks.

During the VALORANT closed beta, the game averaged nearly three million players daily, Donlon said. So, as you'd expect, your progress from the beta won't be carried over.

Speaking of new content, Riot has also teased that it's got some goodies lined up for Valorant's launch, though exact details on this aren't clear just yet. All account progression and statuses will be reset then, and any cosmetic purchases refunded (with accounts gifted a 20 percent bonus on any cosmetic currency purchased).

Most of your progress will be lost when the full game launches, but Riot have offered some incentives to beta players.

So make sure to get those games in now before the beta ends, and if you're looking to buy Valorant points, now might be the flawless time so you can get your bonus on top.
