First case of COVID-19 confirmed in Braxton County

Dallas County health leaders confirm first case of coronavirus

According to the release, since March 29, the Health Center has had 25 positive cases.

The new Person County case comes as reports of increasing numbers of cases are being reported in neighboring Granville County.

As of Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 4:15 p.m. Gallatin County has a total of 119 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Five cases were attributed to contact with a known case; the source of the remaining cases is still under investigation by health officials. "Remember: My mask protects you, and your mask protects me".

The state of Pennsylvania is now has over 14,500 confirmed cases-with 240 reported deaths. The woman is not being hospitalized but is being isolated.

Health officials say one child is an infant girl and the other child is a 1-year-old boy.

The health department wants residents to fill out self-reporting forms if they start showing symptoms. While the total number of cases in the county is a running tally that began with the first positive case reported March 5, the total number of cases has dramatically increased over the past week.

"The best tips for prevention are still staying home, social distancing and proper handwashing", said Cheryl Eversole director of Dallas County Health Department.
