Elton John to host coronavirus relief concert

Mariah Carey will perform on Sunday during “FOX Presents the IHeart Living Room Concert for America.”

John is hosting a "living room" concert aimed at bolstering American spirits during the coronavirus crisis and saluting those countering it. The event will take the time slot that was to belong to the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which became part of a wave of public-event postponements and cancellations because of the pandemic.

Billie Eilish and Mariah Carey are just two of the musicians who are teaming up with Elton John for his benefit concert this weekend. More performers have yet to be announced.

Each artist will perform from their own living rooms.

The iHeartRadio benefit is not the only event of this kind in the works in the entertainment world. This event will be based in Corden's garage as he interviews famous faces like Will Ferrell through video chat.

Corden's special will be dedicated to the CDC Foundation and Feed the Children, encouraging viewers to donate to these causes.

There are much bigger problems to have during the coronavirus pandemic, but this is one that can actually be remedied (if you are partial to any of the artists below).

The following night, CBS will air Homefest: James Corden's Late Late Show special on Monday at 10 p.m. ET.

Musicians have been quick to move online as U.S. states have issued shutdown and stay-at-home orders, with free performances filmed at home and streamed on social media from the likes of John Legend and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

In addition to airing on FOX, the special concert will also be available for viewing on all digital platforms on the network.

The concert will air on FOX Sunday at 9 pET.
