Bindi and her professional wakeboarder husband, 23, married at Australia Zoo, on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, on Wednesday evening (AEST).

Bindi paid tribute to her mother Terri with her choice of wedding dress, which was remarking similar to what she wore at her wedding to Steve Irwin 27 years ago.

The 21-year-old conservationist tied the knot with Chandler Powell at Australia Zoo yesterday, and confirmed the news in an emotional Instagram post that revealed the couple had to "change everything" about their wedding plans in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Bindi shared the happy news on Instagram, saying she and Chandler had "had to change everything" under the current circumstances, instead opting for a private affair with "no guests" in a bid to keep everyone safe.

"We want to acknowledge Steve by all of us lighting this candle for him, but you know, I guess in some ways it's not necessary because Steve will be there anyway", she told The Courier Mail.

"This was one of our first family trips with Chandler many years ago!Chandler, thanks for being my lip sync buddy from day 1!"

"After nearly a year of planning, we changed everything so that we could enjoy a safe and small private ceremony at our home, Australia Zoo", he wrote in part. "You're always with me".

"I'm walking Bindi down the aisle, which is just gonna be awesome", he said. "To everyone reading this - stay safe, social distance and remember LOVE WINS", Bindi added on Instagram.

Earlier today, she could be seen exiting a vehicle in a white gown at an erected wedding venue space at her beloved Australia Zoo - the wildlife sanctuary created by her late father Steve Irwin and her mum, Terri, in North Queensland.

Chandler has previously said proposing to her "in her very favourite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the flawless way" to do it.
