Samsung Galaxy Z Flip now available to buy

Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne edition

The unlocked version of the foldable phone is already sold out on Samsung's U.S. website. Since the expectations on the new Galaxy Z Flip aren't exactly high - considering the massive failure of Samsung Galaxy Fold, it remains to be seen whether the Galaxy S20 series will help restore Samsung's dominance in the premium segment.

That's one interpretation of what foldable phones could be, but it's not the only one out there.

The Galaxy Z Flip puts a twist on flip phones by making the entirety of the screen a touch screen with ultrathin foldable glass, that is claimed to be able to bend up to 200,000 times.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 has only just made its pre-order appearance with deals hitting the virtual shelves just days ago.

Meanwhile, the priciest of the three - Galaxy S20 Pro - features a massive 6.9-inch QHD+ display, 128/512GB storage, 12/16GB RAM, 40MP front-facing camera, 5000mAh battery, ad a quad-camera setup on the rear comprising of a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 108MP wide-angle lens, a 48MP telephoto lens, and a ToF sensor.

However the focus isn't on the specs or even the camera. The phones also take advantage of 5G which allows for hyperFast speeds.

Inspired by the iconic Lancome powder compact, that's how the Galaxy Z Flip is marketed to carrier execs and retailers, automatically putting it in the fashion accessory, girly category that Samsung is apparently aiming at.

If you still want to get your hands on the Galaxy Z Flip, you can try buying it later today or in the next couple of days through the widget below.

As to what the price will be locally when the Galaxy Z Flip does launch, our best bet is that it should come in either around the same price as Motorola's $2699 Razr, or near that of Samsung's other folding phone, the $2999 Galaxy Fold.
