Pochettino: I would love to coach in the Premier League again

Mauricio Pochettino wants English Premier League return

Pochettino was sacked from Tottenham just a few months after reaching the first final in the history of the Champions League with the Spurs.

Speaking to Sky Sports' In The Pink podcast yesterday, he said: "I would love to work in the Premier League". "It will be hard, I know, and for now it is a waiting moment and we will see what happens".

Klopp will need his entire squad fit and ready to challenge on all fronts but rushing Mane back will not be an option.

'I have belief and confidence that the next challenge will be fantastic'.

Marcelo Bielsa is leading the Whites and Pochettino is a close pal with his fellow Argentine, who he admitted is one of his managerial inspirations.

Under the terms of his dismissal, he is liable to return the compensation, up to a reported £10 million (S$18 million), if he took over at another Premier League club before the end of this season.

"Everything I had to do was very scary in those moments", he said. "To destroy White Hart Lane and build a new stadium, to play at Wembley and Milton Keynes, only soccer players know how hard it was to deal with these situations".

Pochettino managed Spurs for five long years and during the reign, the club had their best run when they reached the final of the UEFA Champions League last season. His tenure coincided with the building of Tottenham's new stadium, ground being broken in 2015 and the club eventually moved in in April 2019 after months of delays. "That is more than winning titles".

This is the second time Pochettino has emphasized a return to England.

"The young English managers of today have the influence of Europeans", he said.

"Before, English football was closed. People have been more open to discover a different kind of football".

For the Champions League qualification, Man Utd will have to finish in Premier League's top four this season.

The Daily Mirror last week reported that Pochettino remains keen on managing United.
