This weekend saw more than 75,000 fans crowd ANZ Stadium for the Fire Fight Australia bushfire relief concert, with organisers announcing the total donations from the event to be sitting at $9.5 million late on Sunday evening.

Rock behemoths Queen + Adam Lambert played to a roaring crowd, with Alice Cooper, Irish favourite Ronan Keating and singer-songwriter k.d. lang also on the line-up.

The concert was hosted by Celeste Barber, an Australian comedian who last month raised 51 million dollars for firefighters via her Facebook campaign.

"People can continue to donate and purchase the official Fire Fight Australia T-Shirt online with 100% of proceeds going to the fundraising efforts", Mr Dainty said. "As Aussies, we bear together and look after each other - because it turns out the people at the top don't", she said to cheers from the crowd.

Fire Fight's profits will be shared between the Red Cross' disaster relief and recovery fund, rural and regional fire services and the RSPCA's bushfire appeal.

'We're doing our part in helping, ' she told AAP at ANZ stadium.

23 artists and bands took the stage, including John Farnham, Queen and Adam Lambert and Olivia Newton-John.

'It's going to be awesome.it's great that it's bringing everyone together for a good cause'.

One of the highlights was Farnham being joined by recent Eurovision: Australia Decides contestant Mitch Tambo and Queen's Brian May to perform You're The Voice as a duet in English and Gamilaraay.

"Hello, everyone. Catherine and I just wanted to say that we were very shocked and saddened to see the damage and devastation caused by the bushfires recently", Prince William said.

Donations through www.firefightaustralia.com will go the the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, which makes grants to local not-for-profit groups for community-led projects during the recovery and rebuilding process.
