Zion Williamson expected to make National Basketball Association debut January 22

Zion Williamson is set to make his NBA debut next week

Mike Conley is still out with the Jazz due to injury. Donovan Mitchell and Bojan Bogdanovic have been a terrifying scoring duo that has a knack for turning games into nightmares for opposing coaches. They recently handed the Detroit Pistons a 117-110 road loss.

All eyes will be on the rookie who may be joining the Pelicans at the right time as they surge towards the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

And the world finally will get to see how the high-flying 19-year-old looks in a regular-season National Basketball Association game. The Pelicans have eight listed on the injury report right now. Brandon Ingram, Jrue Holiday, JJ Redick and Derrick Favors were also sidelined for Monday's run-in with the Detroit Pistons. It doesn't help matters that Holiday has already been ruled out for the game, while Redick is still listed as questionable. Brandon Ingram is leading the team with 25.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest.

The Pelicans are 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight games as an underdog and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win.

After it had been reported that the Pelicans were teaching Williamson different ways to both walk and run, the latest comments from New Orleans GM David Griffin about how the rehab process has been going, on top of how the Pels are going to put him into action, make a lot of sense. The 47-year-old executive did say in December that Williamson will "very likely" be held out of back-to-backs initially.
