OnePlus 8 Pro leak shows off wonderful 120Hz screen. Your move, Samsung

Alleged One Plus 8 Pro 120 Hz setting screen leaks with punch-hole selfie camera

The alleged hands-on image of the OnePlus 8 Pro has been shared by True Tech. While the S20 Plus and S20 Ultra are expected to have 120Hz-capable screens, they're rumoured to be restricted: the better-quality QHD+ resolution, which the screens are said to be capable of delivering, are restricted to 60Hz.

According to the latest rumors, the OnePlus 8 Pro will be the only device of the upcoming OnePlus 8 series that will include a 120Hz Fluid Display panel.

We don't know any more details about the OnePlus 8 Pro-including a launch date-but the incredible phone screen has certainly piqued our interest. It's a pre-production unit so there may still be slight changes before final production. This means even at 120hz refresh rate, the screen resolution of the OnePlus 8 will not be affected.

The hands-on image shows the Settings page where users can select the refresh rate of the display.

Also worth noting, the new high refresh rate screen is expected to have a variable refresh rate setting, likely loaded up to save battery.

There we can see three different options, including 120Hz for "maximum smoothness" with reduced battery life, 90Hz for a balance between smoothness and battery life, and 60Hz for better battery life but less smooth user experience. The image shows three options: 120Hz, 90Hz, and 60Hz.

Now, the first image of 2020's OnePlus 8 Pro has been leaked online, and it looks to improve on the original in a lot of key ways. Above the display is a circular punch-hole selfie camera, as previously seen in CAD renders of the upcoming phone. This is the first time OnePlus is opting for such a display. The upcoming OnePlus 8 has been in the works since last quarter. It also reveals that the volume and lock screen button will sit on the right, while the alert Slider will be placed on the left, similar to the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series.
