Heat's Butler fined $ 35K, Pacers' Warren $ 25K for National Basketball Association incident

Rivalry renewed against the Heat? T.J. Warren doesn’t back down speaks up and shows an edge the Pacers need

In an appearance on Trevor Noah's Comedy Central Show, Miami Heat star small forward Jimmy Butler talked about his altercation with Indiana Pacers shooting guard TJ Warren.

Butler was penalized $35,000 for his role and for later escalating the incident on social media.

With 6:29 left in the third quarter, Warren fouled Butler to prevent an easy score - and that set Butler off.

Butler blew him kisses goodbye, and Warren retaliated by flipping him the bird while walking to the locker room.

Jimmy Butler has never been shy about controversy, but even for him, Wednesday night's antics were an anomaly.

Seven seconds later, Butler was called to an offensive foul because he had put his shoulder against Warren's chest.

Butler spun around and immediately balled his right hand up into a fist before pushing his chest into Warren's and getting up in his face. Warren have each been fined by the National Basketball Association after their involvement in an altercation during Wednesday's matchup between the two clubs, the league announced Friday.

The way this game went, Butler probably wasn't the only one who circled March 20 on their calendars. Warren was kicked out after receiving his second technical foul for mocking after the call applauded. Both players can anticipate. He called the sixth-year forward "soft" and "trash" before threatening to "tear his ass up every time". The NBA chalked that up to Butler's ensuing taunt on Instagram. "I don't know if I'm the best player, I can't answer that, I can't tell you that".
