WhatsApp new feature: Get call waiting facility on Android phones

WhatsApp Update 'Call Waiting Feature' Finally Available For Android Users

Unlike on a phone call where you can put people on hold, and in a way can simultaneously talk to two people by switching between calls, on WhatsApp you will have to be active on only one call.

Call waiting is available in v2.19.352 stable (APK Mirror) and above of WhatsApp, and v2.19.128 (APK Mirror) of WhatsApp Business, the report added. After introducing the new grouped stickers and fingerprint authentication feature last month, the social messaging app has added a new call waiting facility.

However, it is important to note when you accept the call, it will automatically disconnect the first call. It is also available on the beta version 2.19.357 and version 2.19.358 of the app. The company also revealed any Apple iPhones using software older than iOS 7 and Android devices with version 2.3.7 installed will no longer be supported.

In their blog post, Whatsapp said, "We are committed to reinforcing the private nature of our platform and keeping users safe from abuse".

WhatsApp has recently released an update for its Android using customers. Rumours are rife that the Facebook-owned firm will release this update in the coming months with more and more screenshots of how this upgrade will look appearing online. Here's what you need to know, or recall, if you've forgotten: WhatsApp will stop working on Windows phones from December 31, 2019. If true, it appears that Dark Mode could get a new option which will allow users to choose the theme based on their battery-saving settings. However, it is not the same feature as putting a call on hold.

Elsewhere in the bump, the app has added an ability that lets users control which contacts can add them to a group. On iOS 8, you can no longer create new accounts or reverify existing accounts. You will notice this feature only when you are already on a call. These features include but are not limited to group voice/video calls and the ability to turn a WhatsApp voice call into a video call.
