Vikings running back Dalvin Cook suffers injury on third-quarter fumble

Seattle has been known for their fantastic touchdown dances this year.

So here are the Seahawks now sitting at 10-2 with a win on the road over the 49ers in their back pocket.

I guess it's encouraging that despite all the nonsense, the Vikings had a legitimate chance to come back in this game (against one of the best, if not the best, team (s) in the NFC).

A year ago, the Vikings finished in the top five in the National Football League in total defense and passing defense and in the top 10 in scoring defense. The team performed an NSYNC routine earlier this season. This season they are 16th in total defense, giving up 347.4 yards per game; 20th against the pass (242.9); 15th against the rush (104.5); and 11th in scoring defense (20.2).

Despite the struggles of the run defense on Monday, it's the Vikings work against the pass that has caused Zimmer the most concern. He gains 1, and the Vikings take their first timeout. Quarterback Brandon Allen, who has since been benched, threw for 240 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings and directed a drive late in the fourth quarter that finally stalled at the Minnesota 4-yard line. The Vikings scored a defensive touchdown in the first half courtesy of one of the more freaky plays you'll ever see, as Russell Wilson attempted to bat a ... Linebacker Eric Wilson started for Gedeon against the Seahawks.

Wendy Forte asks about the Canada onesies worn by Tyler Lockett and David Moore on Monday, and Kathie Klatt from Vancouver, B.C. writes to say she is "very impressed with the wearing of the Canadian onesies in support of Luke Willson". The team is now one game behind the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North division. Minnesota faces the Lions, Chargers, Packers and Bears the rest of the way.

After the game, Moore talked about the play, and the celebration.

The Vikings are now 8-4 and a game ahead of the Los Angeles Rams as the sixth-seed in the NFC.

Cook did tell reporters after the game that he injured his chest (or re-injured his chest, as he showed up on the injury report this week), and that he'll "definitely be ready to go Sunday".
