Saturday will be wet and stormy at times

There may be a few breaks in the clouds early Sunday before turning gloomy with rain/snow showers Sunday afternoon and evening.

This year also had been an exceptionally cloudy one too. More steady rain moves in through the evening hours and sticks with us overnight. Friday looks partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with highs near 40°. Today is not the day for outdoor activities as rain, some moderate, falls for much of the morning and afternoon. Our main threat with this system is damaging winds but a brief tornado can not be ruled out along the line, mainly for locations in North Mississippi. Rain, which could be heavy at times, and a little chill will be around for your tailgate and through kickoff.

We're still stuck with the breeze on Tuesday, but otherwise conditions improve with a good deal of sunshine returning to our skies.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy. High of 42. Many areas will be 10 degrees colder than Saturday with highs struggling to get out of the mid 40s.
