At one point, Melania's seen sprinkling snow on the tree's branches, and the ornaments include red, white and blue flags and ribbons. and Scrabble tiles spelling out "Be Best" - the name of her anti-bullying initiative.

First Lady Melania Trump unveiled the White House Christmas decorations via a video released Sunday on Twitter. "We hope you enjoy our tribute to the traditions, customs and history that make our nation great".

The theme appeared to be a safer choice than in previous years, which included blood-red trees mocked for looking like something out of "The Handmaid's Tale".

East Room decorations are inspired by the USA flag and feature gilded eagle Christmas tree toppers, mirrored stars and red and blue ribbons. According to the statement, the State Dining Room, "celebrates America the lovely", with a gingerbread rendition of the South Portico of the White House and landmarks from across the country.

The White House has been turned into a winter wonderland for Christmas 2019.

The popular display also features models of landmarks from across the country, including Mount Rushmore, St. Louis' Gateway Arch, the Alamo, the Liberty Bell and the Statue of Liberty, besides the Golden Gate Bridge and the Space Needle.

Mrs. Trump continued her tradition of hanging wreaths on the mansion's exterior windows, 106 in all.

More than 250 volunteers from all 50 states participate in the White House decorating each year.

This Christmas season I want to honor those who have shaped our country and made it the place we are proud to call home, and I am excited to announce our White House holiday theme, "The Spirit of America" When I travel the country, I am inspired by the hard-working people and families that I meet.

It's Christmas time at the White House, which means that the world is once again given a small glimpse at the decked out halls.
