National Football League review: Ravens edge 49ers, Patriots beaten

Thompson The missed opportunities the loss and the heartbreak will only help the 49ers

The Packers (9-3) defeated the New York Giants 31-13 Sunday.

Jackson spent part of last season on the Ravens' practice squad, then was on the New York Jets' practice squad earlier this year before Baltimore signed him to its 53-man roster on October 15, following DeShon Elliott's season-ending knee injury. He also rushed for five yards on three carries.

Dalton found Tyler Boyd for a 17-yard touchdown in the first quarter and he led another two scoring drives before half-time at the Paul Brown Stadium. Emmanuel Sanders was the top receiver for San Francisco with four catches for 41 yards. Wins against the Saints and Seahawks will go a long way in locking up both the division and No. 1 seed, assuming San Francisco takes care of business with a pair of home games - one of which coming against the likes of a very weak Falcons team. Honestly, as the clock ran down, I'm just hoping the ball's the spotted at the 32.

Tom Brady threw for 326 yards, three touchdowns and an interception as the Patriots suffered a second defeat of the season. (We) definitely played against a real good team, but I was really happy with our guys and how they played.

Running back Raheem Mostert stood out for the 49ers this afternoon, finishing with 19 carries for 146 yards and a score. Everything slowed down in the second-half which was unusual. They're favored by just 2.5 points per BetMGM, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is notoriously spotty in night games (he's gone 7-13 in his career on that stage, and is 3-4 there since joining the Vikings) and laid an egg in this same venue in these same circumstances past year, losing 21-7 to the Seahawks on Monday Night Football in early December. If the Rams lose, the 49ers are in with a win or tie at New Orleans. Now that the 49ers are 10-2 (tying New Orleans), the surging Seattle Seahawks can match their record with a win over the Minnesota Vikings in prime-time. While losses are never ideal, San Francisco should still be encouraged by their performance against the Ravens.
