November 30 is Small Business Saturday, a day when shopping small and locally can help make a difference for many small businesses in Plainfield this holiday season.

The weekend after Thanksgiving marks Small Business Saturday - aimed at encouraging people to boost their local economies.

Melissa Mattox, the owner of Miss Behaven, says all the Downtown Georgetown shops give back. According to American Express, for every dollar spent at a small business about 67 cents stays in the local community.

"Shopping at a small shop, you're keeping your money in your community", Powell said. "It stays here with local, the people who live here and who grow up here and who raise their family here", Danielle Gilbert, who works at Pigeon and the Hen Pottery downtown said.

Numerous small businesses in Missoula are in the downtown area which has over 50 local stores.

Helping out local stores like Pruess Pets really impacts the community.

"We put our money back into the community, we shop local, we hire local all the way from accounting to office supplies".

It's a day meant to help and thank locally-owned businesses. "It's really cool to see everything that's kind of been changing around town and it's been busier for sure". "We all come together to bring everyone downtown on that day".
