Los Angeles Rams hand Arizona Cardinals loss easily

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury felt that the team was off rhythm following Sunday's game against the Rams.

The Cardinals offensive struggles were especially disappointing coming off a bye week with two weeks to prepare for the Rams. They looked like a team that was ready for the offseason. The only problem is, there are still 5 games left, including this one. Murray completed 19 of 34 attempts for 163-yard and no touchdowns.

Rookie quarterback Kyler Murray was not exempt from the team's struggles Sunday, turning in perhaps his worst showing of the year. From there it was all cruise control.

Murray showed up on the injury report late in the week with a hamstring issue and didn't appear to have his usual mobility.

In the past, Gurley was always known to be a workhorse in the backfield for Los Angeles since he would barely see any time away from the field, but unfortunately this has been far from the case in 2019. "There was never a point in that game where he put his head down". By the end, he had seven catches of 15 yards or more and averaged 13.2 yards per reception. He had thrown no touchdowns passes and five interceptions over his previous three games but responded with 323 yards passing in the first half as the Rams built a 20-0 lead. It's too soon to tell, given that he was facing a Cardinals defense that ranks among the worst in the National Football League and has allowed an average of 415 yards and 28.8 points per game. Does McVay want Goff blocking, as he did Sunday when the quarterback attempted to take on Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson on a 48-yard gain by receiver Robert Woods?

Receiver Cooper Kupp caught six passes for 65 yards, Josh Reynolds four for 39 yards and Brandin Cooks two for 24 yards.

The Cardinals seemed to have a tough time tackling as well.

Now they move on to face the Pittsburgh Steelers next week. Even though there were more losses than wins, there was a general feeling that Murray was improving, Kingsbury was quickly learning how to call an National Football League game and the Cardinals were heading in the right direction.
