Path of Exile 2 announced

Path of Exile 2 Announced, New Trailer and Gameplay Revealed

The release is still a long way out, but developer Grinding Gear Games has already announced a load of details.

The announcement and the infamous "don't you guys have phones?" line seemed to be everywhere after it all went down, and there's been so sign of Diablo Immortal either, despite a supposed 2019 release date.

Taking place 20 years after the events of the first game, Path of Exile 2 introduces characters that are a new set of Exiles who fall into the same class archetypes as those in the original game. Citing the problems with sequels splitting an existing community in two, Managing Director Chris Wilson revealed that the teams desired follow-up to their successful 2013 title will live inside the existing Path of Exile as a new seven-act campaign. For the more immediate future, Path of Exile expansions will continue to release on their regular three-month schedule, with content that will be available in both Path of Exile 1 and 2 campaigns.

The Conquerors of the Atlas expansion promises to overhaul the endgame by adding five new bosses.

There is now no info on Path of Exile 2 release date but the developers stated the beta testing will kick off in late 2020. This is one of the fundamental things GGG apparently wanted to implement for a while but couldn't do so in the original Path of Exile.

Some of these new additions are 19 new ascendancy classes that feature new abilities along with a new skill system. Assist Gems at the moment are socketed straight into Talent Gems, eradicating most of the frustrations current within the previous system whereas sustaining all of the earlier depth. "This is an opportunity to make all of these changes in one large update".

Naturally, there's plenty of new equipment, and the devs say on the official site that "the entire progression of armour and weapons has been redone from start to finish". Grinding Gear has said that it won't be ready for a beta "until at least very late 2020". In the meantime, the Path of Exile website will have more information.

Grinding Gear Video video games has launched Route of Exile Cell.
